In October 2018, Mood Indigo moved to New York City, and is now a NYC based Jazz band.
In May 2018, Mood Indigo represented Cyprus at the Dusseldorf Jazz Rally in Germany. The band opened the festival and also performed on a second night. The music was so well received that the band was interviewed on WDR TV, and covered by German newspapers and various press.
Mood Indigo was created in 2013 by the Canadian-Cypriot singer Irene Day, and the Armenian-Cypriot bass player Greg Makamian. The two musicians, equally dedicated to this music, have performed at festivals and clubs around the world. They have also performed with Jazz master Freddie Redd, and world class musicians such as, Chris Byars, Zaid Nasser, Pasquale Grasso, Pete & Will Anderson. Irene Day is a University graduate of Classical performance, and Greg Makamian is a University graduate of Jazz performance.
