The Poreia Theater was founded in the turbulent political and social years that followed the Resistance and the Civil War, where the Greek theater was trying to find its footing through the formation of new experimental troupes and the rapid increase of theater stages in the center of Athens by exploiting old -mainly- buildings . The Poreia theater has already been identified in the public's consciousness with performances of high quality and aesthetics that nevertheless have the courage to interact with the European avant-garde. Since 2000 with Dimitris Tarlou's "Dolichos" group, the theater's repertoire includes new unperformed foreign plays, such as the historical "Beast in the Moon" or "Plots with a View" and "Forest", classic masterpieces such as " Matchmaking", works based on neuropsychiatric disorders such as Peter Brook's "Man Who". Also works that were based on Greek novels of late antiquity such as "Daphnis and Chloe", or monologue works such as "Forgetfulness" by D. Dimitriadis or new Greek works such as "Blind spot" by the debutant at the time Yannis Mavritsakis.
