In 1937, the Katerina Vasilakou Theater operated as a timber warehouse at 3-5 Profitou Daniel Street and Plataion Street. He belonged to an old family of Athens. In 1998 it changed hands and was rented by the great actress Katerina Vasilakou from where it got its name. The building was turned into a theater by her and Dimitris Kraunakis and it operated like that for two years until her death. It is a 1,000 square meter building and is divided into three parts. The Foyer, the Stage and the Garage or Storeroom. The warehouse was transformed into a 150-seat theater and became a youth hangout by the General Secretariat of the New Generation under the name STASSI KERAMEIKOS. The large hall opened as a main stage in 2000 with Laclos' play Dangerous Liaisons. The main feature of the building is the old huge wooden roof which is visible from the inside and makes the space extremely imposing with its height. The old stone walls give it an atmosphere of authenticity and history.
