The Iniochos Theater was founded in November 2001 by Despina Makrydakis. In the summer of 2002, they presented the play "The Slaves" by Jean Genet at the festivals of Tripoli, Rethymno, Lefkada, Symi and Nestoria. In the period 2003-2004 they presented the play "Endgame" by Samuel Beckett at the Dimitris Horn theater. After a long break during which its core members were engaged in other theatrical projects and experimented with other forms of art (visual arts, literature, video art, new media, etc.), in December 2011 they presented as a work in progress part of the project "The poet's mind in spring" a composition of texts from the poetic and prose works of Lefteris Xanthopoulos (The performance -completed- will be staged in a theater in Athens on spring of 2014). In the spring of 2013, they presented Christopher Durang's play "Laughing wildly" adapted in a bar theater in Athens and Lefkada. Due to high demand, the performances will continue in the 2013-14 theater season in Athens and on tour throughout Greece.
